Cambridge United Interview at The Abbey Stadium
Capturing the Game: Life as a Photographer at Cambridge United.

An inside look at the experiences that bring fans closer to the club.
We visited Cambridge United’s Abbey Stadium to sit down with their photographer and explore what it really means to work behind the lens in sports photography. The aim was to give audiences an authentic view into the role of a sports photographer and the experiences that shape their work.
Through a Football Focus style interview, we chatted to Ben around the stadium - sitting in the stands, standing on the terraces, and walking the pitch - to uncover both the journey that led him to Cambridge United and the day-to-day realities of capturing the action. We explored the highs and lows of match day, as well as the unique challenges and moments of shooting during COVID.
The content highlighted how a photographer has brought fans closer to the team, the players, and the club as a whole - extending the experience beyond the stadium and helping supporters feel connected even when they couldn’t be there in person. By showcasing these moments, the series celebrated the artistry, dedication, and storytelling power of sports photography, while giving a fresh perspective on life inside a football club.
